Mario Grateli (b. 1994, Italy) is a contemporary visual artist based in the United States. His practice bridges traditional printmaking with digital experimentation, creating works that move between physical form and virtual transformation.
Working primarily with screenprints and digital giclee prints derived from three-dimensional objects, Grateli reimagines familiar forms through surreal and unexpected color palettes. His process shifts objects away from their original identities, transforming them into vivid, ambiguous images that occupy a space between the tangible and the imagined.
Through layered surfaces, chromatic distortions, and the interplay of physical and digital processes, Grateli explores perception, materiality, and the ways images shape our understanding of objects and reality. His work invites viewers to encounter the familiar from an unfamiliar perspective—where solid forms become fluid, colors disrupt recognition, and ordinary objects take on new emotional and psychological possibilities.
