Invader’s practice is rooted in the visual language of 8-bit video games, translated into the urban environment through his signature mosaic works. His interventions occupy a space between street art, public installation, and conceptual practice, using familiar pixelated imagery to question ideas of authorship, permanence, and the boundaries of the city as an exhibition space.
Across decades of work, Invader has developed an extensive global network of site-specific installations, often treating cities as evolving canvases and his mosaics as a form of contemporary archaeological record. The tension between playful imagery and systematic execution remains central to the work, while the ongoing mapping and cataloguing of his interventions adds an archival dimension to an otherwise ephemeral practice.
